Hello, My name is Kizzie Cepeda and I was the leader of the day today. Today the group woke up at 6:00 A.M to get ready for breakfast at 7:00. Since today was our last day at Bonao we had to pack all of our belongings to get on the bus and head out to Santo Domingo. We got on the bus at 8:00 A.M to go to Boca Chica, and Boca Chica is a beach in Santo Domingo. We were at the beach for an hour and a half and after the beach, we went to eat lunch at a place called Parada Amarilla. After the group had lunch we got back on the Guagua (bus) to go to the hostel we are staying at for the night in Santo Domingo. When we arrived at the hostel, it was time for us to go souvenir shopping en la calle Conde in the colonial zone. After the group did their shopping, we had our final reflection at 5:00 p.m where we did different activities for 3 hours. Those activities were some questions about our experince in the Dominican Republic and what were the things the impacted us the most. We also did big loves with the whole group, Global Glimpse Leaders, and the Country Director. In the middle of our final reflection we ate pizza for dinner which was really delicious. After the dinner, we had the chance to take a shower and go to a live Merengue concert in the ruins.

My experince in the Dominican Republic with Global Glimpse has been one of my best and most memorable experiences.  I’ve had the best time of my life on this trip with my group and all the great and important people I’ve met here in the Dominican Republic. This trip has definitely been life-changing because I had to travel alone and meet people from all over the world and get along with them for 3 weeks. Also this trip has also led me to realize some of my dreams and goals that I want to achive in the future. Those goals are to travel around the world and come back to the Dominican Republic and teach English. With the program Global Glimpse, I had the opportunity to do community service. My group traveled to different communities and we donated food in the bateyes, helped some of the people clean their community and taught English classes at an orphanage. I feel really good about my group because not a lot of people get to do the things we did and it made me feel happy because everyone received us as if we were one of their family members and that was really special to us. Also my most memorable moment of this trip was when I was in front of the Foundation where Delegation 3 was staying at and the orphans kids came running to me and gave me hugs and kisses and I felt really loved. It was sad saying goodbye to the kids because we grew a bond and it broke my heart because after today we won’t be seeing them again.

On behalf of the third delegation (EVER) in Bonao… We have made it to the end.
