Yesterday we had our first free day! Feeling refreshed after sleeping in, we started our morning with a pancake breakfast. After, we split into two groups and toured the city. One group visited the largest Cathedral in Central America, a world heritage UNESCO site. The other group visited the Market and were able to “rebajar” prices and bargain with the locals for steals on hammocks. Both groups had a chance to visit the Internet cafe and call home. After lunch we headed to the cinema for a quick reminder of America, aka Brad Pitt in “Guerra Mundial III.” I couldnt resist the temptation to take a nap in an air conditioned room. unfortunately it was cut short by a frightening zombie scream. We continued our little American expedition with a stop at El Supermercado where we spent most of our cordobas on Lays, Cup O’ Noodles & bug spray. Finally, our free day wouldn’t have been complete without a stop at ESKIMO for banana splits and waffle cones. Overall it was a great day to spend relaxing and touring after a busy week.
