July 8, 2014

This morning was just a typical Global Glimpse Grenada trip morning:

We woke up at 7, the normal wake up time

We then ate Breakfast from 8-9, which is also the normal breakfast time.

After our morning routine, we then had a seminar about our upcoming Community Action Project (our community service project), which we will be doing at a senior living home. During our seminar, we discussed the needs of the home, and applied the Global Glimpse CAP formula to our ideas: Feasibility+Need+Personal Passion+Community Engagement=Impact.

One of things that we did during our CAP (Community Action Project) seminar was to write (on a poster) one skill that each Glimpser could contribute to our CAP. In this photo, one Glimpser writes their skill on the poster

The needs of the Senior Home that we came up with. The numbers represent the extent to how this fits the CAP equation on a scale of 1-3 one being the lowest to 3 being the highest. As you can see, maintenance to the chicken coop was the most needed for the home.

Based on their skills , each Glimpser then sorted themselves into a sub category for the type of work that they could do the best.

After the Seminar, we then walked several blocks to the house of Luis Mora, a Sandinista Veteran. He talk to us about the political history of Nicaragua and his experience in the revolution.

After that, we had lunch and then a Politics Day seminar. During that seminar, we discussed the current political situation in Nicaragua. We also read an article about Daniel Ortega, the current president of Nicaragua

After the seminar, we had free time. During that time, we watched part of the FIFA world cup. Many of us were shocked by the great loss of Brazil to Germany .
