Ambassadors and GG leaders

Today the group worked hard to prepare for the Community Action Project. It started with a tiring wake up at 8:00 am from a long nights sleep. Then, like always, the group went to Onaney’s for a nourishing breakfast to start off the day. Heading back to the hotel, we started to plan the technicalities of how we were going to help the Sabaneta community. Starting off, we calculated everything from the paper we would need, to amount of paint we would use. Once we recognized what was required, a group left the hotel for the hardware store to buy supplies for the next day. Meanwhile, the other delegates worked on the design and construction of what would be done. After two long hours of hard work, we headed back to Onaney’s to get lunch.

Finishing our lunch, we headed back to the hotel to begin our free time. Dispersing into smaller groups, we headed our separate ways depending on what needed to be done. Some went to the store, some slept, or did other random things. Leading into the later afternoon, we prepared for our English students’ graduation. Seeing them graduate was one of our highlights of our trip. It’s nice to see what a few days of teaching can do to change their lives for the better. Thinking over the day and watching everyone coming together, you can see the bond between us grow stronger.
