Wow, we made it safely and smoothly into Managua! Judith and Anni, our in country program coordinators, greeted us with smiles, beautiful bracelets, and a colorful welcome sign. We had a delicious lunch at Dona Marlene in Managua, which we all enjoyed. Our bus ride to Leon was very long, but all had the pleasure of much needed naps. After settling into the Hostel Imperial, we opened up with an orientation of rules and expectations. Dinner was served at Deja-Vu, a local comedor that we will frequent daily for our meals, followed by a surprise cake for Chris’s birthday.
We are all so happy to be here and excited for all the activities we have planned for us. It’s been a long day, and we are all happy to settle into our mosquito protected beds. 🙂 … Hasta Mañana!
