Hello! My name is Sakshi Kashyap and I was the Leader Del Dia for today! Today was a very relaxing day since it was a free day.
In the morning, Tony, Kelly, Ho Joon, Justin, Skyler, Sage, and Kevin went out for an early run at 5:45AM. At 8:30AM, everyone went out for breakfast at Café del Tren. After breakfast, we went to Plaza Roja, where a majority of us bought ponchos and other small items. After Plaza Roja, we went to a supermarket, where we bought many snacks and gifts for the students in our English tutoring classes. From there, we headed to Santa Roma for lunch. After lunch, everyone had a chance to call their parents from the Internet Café. After everyone had received a chance to call their friends and family, we spilt into two groups and went to a coffee shop and an ice cream shop. Once we were done, we went back to the hostal, where we had about an hour of free time. At 5:45PM, we walked to Santa Roma for dinner. Today’s dinner was salad with chicken. After dinner, we walked back to the hostal and began our nightly meetings. It first began with an introduction of what to expect for Saturday, which is living like a local. Afterwards, I completed my role as a leader and passed the role onto Alejandra and Emily, who will be the leaders tomorrow.
Buenos noches! Adios!

Wow..an early run at 5:45am? 🙂 Keep it up everyone and be safe!
First up, Idk what’s up withthe moderators, but my comments keep getting deleted for spam LOL. I keep trying to give you Kelly, Karen, and Salgado a shoutout, but I guess Brent and Breanne doesn’t like me anymore.. Anyways I’m so happy your El Lider de Dia went so well Kelly! My heart swelled up in joy when I saw you finally making a blog. We used to always have these Global Glimpse talks, and I hope I wasn’t all talk how great it is over there. Always will be supportive in everything you do. Making me tear up and the rest of the Ahill kids proud. You’ve always shown great leadership skills Kelly. From your loving empathy, charisma, dumb whips, and natural leading aura, I knew you had to be in Global Glimpse. Kelly doesn’t JUST exhibit these qualities, you all have it. That’s why you guys were chosen for this life changing program. You guys are the living embodiment of the Millenial generation. We are the face of a new era that will carry the torch of the old people’s generation (Mr. Salgado). Let us use this life changing trip to humble ourselves when we go home, and strive to change the world, wherever we go next. Thank you so much guys for being in this program and don’t have any regrets when you come back.
P.S hi Karen. Can’t wait for your blog and your stories when you come back. I hope rain boots paid off. It helped me when I went to Jinotega 2 years ago. Also hi Salgado! I really miss your bright smile and your passive aggressive tone when you talk. Hope you’re enjoying your trip. You deserve it for being the GG at Ahill for a decade now. You are greatly appreciated and I miss you. Keep up the good work. You’re probably the one of few good things remaining at Andrew Hill LOL. Big love to him guys. Ok no more spamming. Goodnight
Hi Charlie,
Thanks for the shoutout as well as to the rest of the Andrew Hill Gang. I will relay message and show them the comment. They are doing a great job here in Ecuador!
Sage, those patterns on the ponchos look amazing- good choices!! Also your family is camping so we are helping taking care of Ryder- she did great playing with Pele today. With you in Ecuador, Marshall in Nicaragua, and Athena in DR, I am loving reading how Global Glimpse is working in each country. You guys are sharing amazing stories, thank you!
