Qué lo qué (Dominican for what’s up) familias. This is Roy and Jared, today’s Líderes del Día. Today was our second and final free day. We woke up at 8:00 AM and had breakfast at 9:00 AM. After breakfast, we had our first free time period from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. During this time, although it was recommended that people stay at the hotel, all but one Glimpser went out to finish their souvenir shopping. Two groups went around Constanza to the different shops to buy bracelets, t-shirts, keychains, and snacks. We all came back to the hotel on time for lunch. After lunch, it was our second free time period from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. During this time, most Glimpsers went out to spend time with one another. Some Glimpsers went out to finish their souvenir shopping, snack shopping, and to play basketball with the Youth Ambassadors and other local kids. At 5:00 PM we had a curfew  so all the Glimpsers came back to the hotel where we told stories and ate snacks.

Hello there families, today we had a very needed relaxed day. In the morning I left with a Amner, Hugo, Mary, Maryfrances, Heather, Nickol, Digna, and Kristen to walk around Constanza trying to find souvenirs. We half wandered around because Amner knew the general locations of all the stores that had things to buy. We visited many small stores that sold shirts, fake Jordans, bandanas, flags, and many other typical items that are found in souvenir shops.. Durning the second free time i was one of the few Glimpsers that stayed at the hotel where I was finally able to start to catch up on sleep and started to pack up my all my clothes and what I bought. As people started coming back from their last chance to buy souvenirs, we spent the rest of the time telling stories from home, jokes, and getting to know each other more.

Hola familias, today I had a stressful, fun, and tiring day. I went out souvenir shopping in the morning during our first free time period. I was desperate to buy bracelets and keychains for my friends and family. I was lucky enough to be able to get souvenirs for most of the people that I wanted. We went around Constanza to the different shops/local businesses to get our souvenirs. Our adopted group dog Glimpsy followed both groups the entire day. After lunch, I rested for about half an hour and then went out to Punto de Nieve, a local pastry shop, to chill and hang out with Maryfrances, Amner, Erl, Kristen, Nickol, Mary, Heather, Clinton, and YanYing. We went to finish our souvenir shopping at Asfer (the store where you can find everything) then returned to the hotel. Today was a fun day because it was the last day that we could hang out as a group, and I really enjoyed my day as Líder Del Día.

Glimpsy hangs out with us as often as she can (but we aren’t allowed to touch her or feed her)
