Hi there! My name is Cristina and I will be leading the trip to Matagalpa on Sunday with my partner Elizabeth.  I can’t wait to meet my students and embark on a journey that I know will impact us all.

A little about me: I am a native New Yorker who transplanted to San Francisco last March for a career change from consulting to tech.  I have served on Global Glimpse’s Advisory board for the past year and have loved being part of such an inspiring and thoughtful organization.  To me, travel is a gift, and one that gives perspective.  My first trip out of the country without my parents was when I was 16, when I studied art and Italian in Florence for the summer.  It was a difficult yet integral time in my life, one that taught me the importance of culture and gave me a taste of just how big the world really is.  Since then, I pursued a degree in International Studies and traveled all throughout Europe during my semester abroad and thereafter (that’s me looking out at the Temple of Poseidon in Greece).  Nicaragua will be the first Latin American country I have visited, and I’m thrilled to learn more about the culture, the people, my students, and even myself.

I am so very excited to depart on Sunday and welcome any questions or comments you may have before then.  Parents and students alike, please feel free to reach out to myself or Elizabeth this coming week.  Otherwise, we’ll see you at the airport!
