Today in Riobamba we had our first free day. We all spent the day walking around, doing some shopping and many more things. In the morning after breakfast at Cafe del Tren, one group of us went to the internet cafe to call our family members, check our emails and the blog post. Talking to some of our family members made a lot of us homesick and very emotional. We were all there for each other and supportive of each other.

While one group of Glimpsers were at the internet cafe, another group did some shopping at Plaza Roja. Everyone got some Ecuadorian souvenirs for themselves and for their family members. After each group went to the internet cafe and shopped at Plaza Roja, we all met up for lunch. After lunch each group got some treats. Some of us got rolled up ice cream and some got crepes. We also went and did some more shopping at Plaza Roja because we felt rushed the first time we went.

After that, we all met up at a very nice park, Parque Guayaquil, where we rode paddle boats, relaxed on the grass, talked to each other, and took very fun pictures. Then we all went to dinner and before eating a couple of the Glimpsers ate worms, called Chontacuro, which are an Ecuadorian delicacy.

Today was very interesting and fun free day!
