It was a fun, exhausting day. The morning call of the day is at 8:00 A.M. It is our first fun day in Leon, Nicaragua. We had so many ideas about what we wanted to do and where to go. After breakfast, we went to the supermarket to resupply our snacks and basic needs. Many people bought snacks like cup noodles and chips, while others bought shampoo and soap. Afterwards, we walked around that area wherethere were many shopping kiosks, and it was so tempting to buy some of the cheap, nice clothes. At 11:45, we headed back to Imabite restaurant, where we have many of our meals, for lunch. Following lunch, we went to Cyber Enter (an internet cafe), where people made calls home to their lovely parents and friends. Meanwhile, some people went to a small area of kiosks across the street where they could buy souvenirs for their families and friends. After that, we walked to a popular smoothie place. We then headed back to the hostel for English tutoring prep. Yesterday, many people were not prepared for the class. Today, we were given an hour to prepare a lesson plan and have a discussion about the victories and challenges we faced the night before, which was our first time tutoring. At 5:00 pm, we then had dinner, and went to the English tutoring. We took more time to prepare this time around and was able then to be flexible and enjoy tutoring our students. We came back to the hostel at 8:00 pm for a nightly meeting and called it a night.
Hello TEAM GG!!!!! Sorry for the double post yesterday, but I was so excited to get my phone call from Brittany that I was not sure I had submitted my post or not, so you got an extra one. silly me!!!!! Anyway, I talked to Sophia and she and her dad are going back East for college tours for a few days. She will come to dinner when she gets back. I had dinner with Yvonne, Todd, Grace, Hudson and Cade, they all send you much love. You make me so proud to cll you my daughter Brittany. Words cannot express how proud of you and your GG TEAM we are. Get some sleep and have sweet dream.

Hey brit i miss you but i’m so happy your having fun and making change, i’m not getting your phone calls and its bumming me out hard. Tomorrow maddy and daisy are gonna teach me how to ride a bike, i mean it’s about time i’m 17 and i can drive a car but not ride a bike how sad. Dear Global Glimpse team. Thanks for posting a summary of your everyday activities. I am glad you had a little free time yesterday. We were happy to receive phone calls and hear you are all doing well.
I want to congratulate you all for being brave and willing to expose yourselves to different ambiances and make the best of the experience. Some of the places you visit will have a lot of beauty and some at the beginning may look to you very poor, probably dirty, disorganized, shocking to say the least. After a few days your eyes will get acquainted to the new environment and people on shops or the street will be familiar to you and little by little you’ll realize that there is a balance and tranquility in their lives and that people can find happiness in any condition. Lovely to see the pictures with the little children in the neighborhood. Little angels willing to give of their time and their love. Enjoy your trip. Learn from it and hopefully it will open your eyes to activities you will like to do in the future in order to help others. Being sensitive to others and willing to lend a hand as you do, is the hope for a better world.
