Hi everyone! Today’s LDD was me, Brianna. If I had to describe it in two words, it’d be productive and fun.
We started off with breakfast as usual and then headed to Casa Materna (C.M.) to get a head start on our CAP project. This was not planned and if I’m completely honest, I wasn’t entirely looking forward to spending my Free Day’s morning on it but in the end I was really glad we did do it. There were two groups of us; one that went shopping for the materials we are going to need and one that stayed to clear out the dirt in C. M.’s garden so that tomorrow morning we can dive right into it. Special shout out to Norma who led the group that went shopping (as she worked with our budget) and was able to get us a good deal on the materials (bless her soul).
After 45 minutes of shopping and digging rocks and dirt, we were hungry and went to lunch. Lunch consisted of people eating their food and conversing but mostly my gang and I just bursting out laughing at our dumb jokes. After lunch we had a quick money exchange and donating for the CAP. By the way, I’m very proud of us for raising $90 in addition bringing our total to over $500 so far!! Then we finally had our free time and since it has been over 8 days into the trip(!!), we were allowed to go out in groups of four or more on our own (so no GGL or PC with us). This was something strange and new to us as we are used to relying on our phones to navigate us – especially in a foreign country. But today, we grew and learned a little more with the help of each other’s trust and navigating skills. Thankfully, none of us got lost or hurt and were back to the hostel on time. So props to us! A lot of us went shopping for souvenirs and some of us were able to make some calls back home. So glad to hear from you!
Afterwards, we had dinner, then our English tutoring classes and to end the day, our nightly meeting.
‘Twas a good day. Thank you so much for reading today’s post and hope to continue to hear from you all! Enjoy our pictures and miss you all!!
See you soon,
Bri 🙂
Sounds like another great day. Love and miss you Monster!
BRIANNA! I got to talk to you on the phone and read your post in the same day! So exciting! I’m pleased and relieved that you’re having fun, being productive and are still healthy and in one piece!

News at home is that when I went to the shelter to have my kittens vaccinated, they sent me home with an extra one. She’s very sweet but was stuck in a glue trap people use to catch mice. She’s thin but happy to be free, and is looking forward to meeting you.

Thanks for the phone call this afternoon Ayla!!! It was wonderful to hear your voice, and we’re so happy to hear that you’re having a great time! Looking forward to hearing more about your CAP project as you make progress on it!
Dorky Joke of the Day:
Mahatma Gandhi often walked barefoot which produced an impressive set of callouses on his feet. He also ate very little, making him rather frail and with his odd diet he often suffered from bad breath. This made him a super calloused fragile mystic hexed with halitosis.
Love you more than Barnaby loves barking at every single dog that passes in front of our house. Adventure on!!!
Love these updates! Glad to hear you’re all working hard together and having fun together! We miss you so much, Cameron!
Brianna-great recap of the day’s activities. Exciting to see and hear about the CAP.
Ayla-thank you for calling; it was GREAT to hear your voice! Glad to hear that you are having a great time. Continue to cherish your time in Esteli.
