Hi! I’m Alex and I was Leader of the Day on June 30th. On the 5th day of our trip, we went hiking in a canyon! We woke up pretty early in the morning to take a bus ride to Somoto. Our tour guides then led us down a path into the canyon and we got into the water. We paddled and climbed in and out of the river for a few hours and many of us conquered our fears of hieghts. We jumped off of from cliffs near 26 feet! The entire group was supportive of those who were nervous about jumping and many kids did feel confident enough to jump in the end. Despite some cuts and bruises and a long bus ride, almost everyone agreed that this was the funnest day so far! The energy in the group was amazing and it was such a great bonding day.
