Hello Everyone!  My name’s Taylor, and I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and experiencing this trip together.  I’m from the North Bay, born and raised in Napa-where I live now, and I commute to UC Berkeley.  I study Peace and Conflict, and in the future I plan to be an attorney representing low-income folks.  I’m into politics, history, and rock climbing in my free time.

I’ve never been to the Dominican Republic, but I’ve been fortunate enough to make it to Mexico, Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, and much of Europe.  One thing I’m really excited about is learning about the dynamics of immigration between Haiti and the DR, which we’ll spend a day doing.  I speak rusty conversational Spanish, so maybe we can practice together.  What attracted me to becoming a GG Leader is that this trip is designed for us to really examine our experience and the experiences of those who call the DR home, and hopefully become better and more aware citizens in the process.  I believe that this can be a step towards us better addressing injustice and inequality.

I can’t wait to learn more about and connect with you all individually—and see you at the airport soon!
