This morning we woke up at 7:30AM and had breakfast together before heading over to Puedo Leer Biblioteca to work on the second day of our CAP project. While we were there, we continued working on building the bookshelf, mural, and table.
As Leaders of the Day, we were able to experience first-hand what it is like to see a large group of people work hard to leave their mark in Nicaragua. While watching and facilitating, something that we learned today was that when people communicate and work together, the job goes by faster. As one of our Global Glimpsers, Stephanie, says, “Teamwork makes the dream work!”
Something that surprised us most today was seeing even the shyest people being able to work with people that they’ve barely met. We are really proud that we’ve kept our persistence throughout the first and second CAP days and are excited to leave our mark in Nicaragua.
Some of the most inspiring people we worked with today were the children from the community that are voluntarily working with us to improve their library. They helped us sand the wood that we were using to build the table and bookshelf and were really creative with the flashcards that we were making. Being Leaders of the Day was a really good but tough experience because we had a lot of fun and were able to practice our leadership skills. Although, it was tough to get everyones attention at times, we stayed persistent and positive. Something that we learned about ourselves today was that we always have room for growth as leaders. At times we might think that we have it all under control and that we know enough but there is always, always, room for more to grow and learn from. At the end of the day, we are proud of the work we did today and will continue to put our all into everything we do.
Love,
Genesis and Kelly

We are so impressed with what you all have accomplished. Not only you leave your mark in Nicaragua but you also are growing up wiser step by step, looking back and moving forward as journey continues.
Great job!, this is truly above and beyond.
Love you!
Genesis and Kelly, thank you for the post of what happened today and great job at learning what it means to be Lider Del Dia. I like that you emphasized the importance of teamwork! I truly believe that people together are stronger in any aspect of life!
Stephanie so proud of your beliefs and the way you are developing your character in these two weeks. I get so excited and emotional at times to see you in the pictures working so hard with other Glimpsers and having so much fun and realizing that you are no longer my little girl that I need to protect but a strong young woman who is independent, smart, and determined! (Well I’m still going to be protective, though!). I am so happy for you and alll of your team and how you are ALL working together. Your project will definitely be your mark and in Granada! Can’t wait to hug you mija!
Te quiero muchisimo!
Tu mami ?????
Hi Faith!!!
Looks like you all had another productive day! In one of my college classes we had a teacher that totally brought out everyone’s talent to the table and those that were shy when they began the class came out to be very outspoken folks! I see that in your group!
That is a great thing! So in observing your blog daily, I see you have learned what poverty is like in another country, learned some great work ethics, what is important in life, team work, and even money management skills. I saw yesterday you guys were trying to buy within your budget!
I am so proud of all of you!! Great job!!! Keep it up!! Make your last days there the most precious days!!
I love you Faith and miss you!! I can’t wait to see you!!!
It is going to be in the 100’s today out here, so I am feeling a bit of your heat pain. Lol!!!
Have a good day!!!!
Love,
Mom

Hi all! I’m a relative of the beautiful Faith Amber Martinez and I wanted to write that you guys are making such a positive, life changing effect on so many people affected in their country and ours as well. For you to take the time & go out of your way to make a difference in this cold hard world is really uplifting and humble to hear and see. I originally was terrified that my cousins parents were allowing my cousin to go and I told Faith to be a blessing and to be open to what God had in store but I never thought she’d be the one receiving the blessings along with God reminding me that he doesn’t sleep and that he watches over ALL of us & continuously meets our needs. Thank you all for being brave and to be used where help is needed and may God continue to bless you to be a blessing. Praying for safe travels & this world. Thank you all for making a difference. ❤ Jenny Chapa
Hi Faith,
So Blessed to see and read all that your team is doing there in Nicaragua. And to know at one time your Great Great Grandmother was a business owner in Managua saved up enough money to send her mother and two children to San Francisco and she worked harder for them all to become citizens. Grandpa came here at the age of 16, can you imagine living there till the age of 16 and Tia at the age of 18. We are so blessed to see that you have taken a step of faith to reach out and be our missionary, what a great cause and there where our roots came from. I need you to know life isn’t what you go through but how you grow though it. Keep shining and sharing the joy for other to see God though you.
So proud of you.
Love you Auntie Elida and Uncle Bob
