Hello Everyone:
Today I was the the leader of the day for living on a dollar on a day. My experience today was the best. My host family was very inviting to strangers in their home. I didn’t feel like an outsider; I felt like part of the family. My host mother was very polite and hard working; she treated me as her own son.
I experienced the things that they go through everyday, which includes things that a normal American person would complain about. One of the things that hit me the hardest was when my host brother said he couldn’t go to school because they could not afford a backpack. This shows how some people don’t even have the basics to get by. I had donated my own backpack right on the spot to him because no one should be deprived of an education.
Sincerely,
Brandon
Good job Brandon, it teaches us to be appreciative for the little things in life. I hope you all will come away with a much better appreciation and understanding that there are always someone else less fortunate than you are. It’s a very good gesture to offer your hits brother your backpack. God bless you all.
