Today was the most difficult wake up call of them all. My global glimpse peers woke up at 4:15, while the leader of the day (me), woke up at 3:55am. The wake up call was crucial to everyone, waking up without even seeing a peek of the sun and the Glimpsers still managed to be on time without any delay. We rushed out the house only having 45 minutes to get ready and entered the bus, since we had to be at the farm by 6:00am we had breakfast to go. Today we ate a ham and cheese sandwich, Two slices of bread with ham, cheese and mayonnaise between it with a bottle of orange juice. When we arrived to the farm we knew it was finally time time to start our challenge “working like a local.” We heard a speech from Enrique the agriculture student from the farm. After the speech we socialized to a minimum, chose our partners and left to our jobs for the day. My group was chosen to clean out a prodigious chicken pen. We filled up a enormous bucket with water and poured soap on the ground, we then swept the water outside the pen. After that task we altered to another pen and attached the buckets to the string when we finished, we carried a bag of betting to the pen and spread it on the floor. Our brake rudely interrupted our beautiful spontaneous work but we were all hungry so we left to our Refreshment brake at 9:00am. We seen all our GG peers and began we to converse about our jobs for the day. There were four different groups and one group explained that they carried 80 pounds of fertilizer and made holes to put the fertilizer in. The second group cut plants and cleaned eggs. The third group cleaned out goat pens and prepared their food and the fourth group cut chayote branches. As we talked about our jobs the food came we had sliced papaya, sliced bananas, sliced watermelon, sliced pineapples and sliced cantaloupe and for along with passion fruit juice.  After we finished our thirty minute brake we switched jobs wit our GG peers. We finished our jobs at 11:00am and then ate lunch at 12:00 a chicken breast covered in gravy and mushrooms, rice, steamed veggies, and a cup of refried beans with cheese pieces with a glass of lemonade. We then present our Global Glimpse gift to the boss to show appreciation. We then had two hours of free time and witch we could prep for English class or have fun. Then discussed our plans for the Oasis project (the school we are donating to) to leader of the orginizaton and corrected our problems. We had dinner at Su Pollo Listo at 6:00 and after we finished we had a nightly meeting at the hostel and went to sleep. I learned so much from being a leader today it was so inspirational getting to understand how difficult farm life is.
