Most of you have probably heard that more than half of the delegation spent the day in the clinic today with a stomach bug. We have taken advantage of the unfortunate situation by learning about the Dominican health care system! Students are improving quckly with the help of suero and are in remarkably good spirits. Students are taking bonding to another level by carrying each others’ suero IVs, packing roommates’ overnight bags, and lifting spirits with jokes, get-well cards and games. The healthy students did some creative problem solving by redistributing English class teaching assignments among them and the show went on!
We are so proud of the courage, compassion and comittment ALL GLIMPSERS have shown today! Tomorrow, we expect everyone to be checking out of the clinic and you will receive morning phone calls from your (formerly) sick students. Back to our regularly scheduled blogging tomorrow!
So proud of the sick students who stayed on the up-lifting spirits. Wishing you all the best with your recovery******
We are relieved to hear the students are recovering from this unfortunate incident. We hope that they stay hydrated and report any other lingering symptoms or after affects such as fatique, muscle aches, and/or fevers. Thanks to everyone for helpig all of them!
Thanks for your phone call this morning, Ginny! I didn’t realize that so many of you got sick until I checked the Blog. I am glad to hear that everyone recovered quickly, and back to the busy schedule. Thanks everybody in the group for helping each other as brothers and sisters!
Take care!
So glad our youth are better now. As the previous parent indicated, please watch for any other side effects or symptoms.
I am delighted to hear of the progress!!
