Getting to know our new city!
On our city tour we visited La Voz del Yuna, a radio station in Bonao. The building we visited was a revival of the original building, which housed the first radio station in Latin America.
On our city tour we saw a lot of murals representing the culture here. We also walked a LOT in the hot sun!
We also took a dance class in a beautiful cultural center that had amazing mosaic paintings and art along the outside.
At Piro’s workshop we saw classic Carnival outfits and were able to try them on!
Starting to plan for Los Arroyos
First, we visited a privately funded school called Cigar Family School. This is from one of the 4th grade classrooms.
We interviewed community members of Los Arroyos to get ideas for the CAP.
Always working hard!
In our nightly meetings and seminars we sit together to discuss the day and learn about our responsibilities while we are here
