Hi everyone! Ryan here again. I just have a quick recap of the day and a favor to ask… Please comment on the blogs! Everyone is always so excited to hear which parents are commenting and what they are saying. We send our love, see you all soon!
After a fun exciting night at Disco Techno, the group was glad to sleep in. The “fun day” started with a late breakfast and a trip to the local bakery for some delicious treats. The group then began to split off into groups and go on adventures around the city. Some spent the morning at the Casa Del Cafe for some coffee and smoothie treats, while others dashed to the internet cafe for some needed connection to the outside world and home. Trips around the city center and to the local markets/grocery stores filled most of the day. One of the highlights of today was lunch, when we split into two groups and tried some of Leon’s most delicious restaurants. I wish I could tell you more about the day we had, but it began and ended in a flash! As many of you probably know from reading the emails about Leon, the city is known for its spontaneous thunderstorms and we were pleasantly surprised with one tonight. Excited for some adventure, myself, Makhayla, Nivedha, and Bridget went to the center of the city in the pouring rain enjoying the once in a life-time experience. After cart-wheels in the rain and some much needed ice-cream, we ended the night together relaxing at the hostel grateful for an amazing day in Leon.

It sounds like you continue to have an amazing time in Leon… today was the best for me since your trip began… it was so great to hear from Spencer!! We love reading the blogs everyday – it’s such a fun way to feel like we are there in some small way with you all. I hope you are all surviving in the heat – we will be sure the a/c is turned on upon your return home. 🙂 Love you, Spencer!!
Ok Ryan, I’ll keep commenting on the blogs, and why not? I love reading the them. You guys are having so much fun even in the rain. Looking at the forecast, this is just the beginning of more thunderstorms to come. So I know you guys will be creative and continue with your daily tasks. By the way Nyla, I spoke to Pastor Simmons at church today and showed him a picture of you, and he was amazed at how you’ve grown and now in Nicaragua contributing to another culture. Well, everyone keep your hopes up high and know that you’re missed at home. I wish you guys could bottle up enough rain to bring back to California. Just kidding, enjoy the rain “Glimpsers.”
Thanks Ryan!
Nice to hear everyone had some more free time. I heard pasta was on the menu today. Nicole im happy to hear you got your comfort food fix! Enjoy since soccer training starts when you get home I’m sure you will have a carry on filled with snacks ! Everyone enjoy your day .
I’m so glad you all had a relaxing, fun day in Leon. I was so happy to get an email from my loving, brave, cool as a cucumber under pressure daughter, Casey. I wish I could send you a picture of your fat cat. She has found a new place on the back of the couch that used to be cookies spot. It sounds like you all have become more comfortable in your home away from home. This is your last week, make good memories, be safe and have fun. Hugs and kisses baby!

Hi Ryan, your dance in the rain made me think of my old country….. We used to take a pretend shower when there was downpour of rain, when mom was’t watching. It’s fun isn’t it.? Maybe cold but we did not care, we always ended with a cold but the fun was worth it. Kim, we missed you yesterday. The whole family was here except you and your dad. Of course we all ended in the garden, the kids brought some chalk and drew on the flagstone. You’ll see the pictures when you come home. Of course, I missed you a lot, you were always the center of the kids.so, lots of fun ehyyy. Busy but somehow you kids find the time for play. It must be cool to be with your bffs for this long stretch.it must be memorable. Not too tired to hang out after a busy day? Don’t forget my pictures!!! You know how I love to look at them.. I expect you to come home with lots of them. Miss you a lot, but knowing you are having the experience of a life time makes me happy. Just be safe. Loveyou. Hugs and kisses to you and your bffs. Muahhhhhh…….
