It has been just under 24 hours since we all met at SFO and we are happy to report we have all safely arrived in Leon! We had a long journey, but everyone kept their spirits high. We were met in the airport in Managua, Nicaragua by our wonderful program coordinators, Summer and Cynthia. We departed in our own school bus with a sweet paint job. Our driver and his assistant delivered us through the rain to our hostal, with a stop to view Nicaragua’s largest lake as well as two of its volcanoes – Momotombo and Momotombito (pictured below)! After settling into our rooms and getting oriented, we had dinner at our comedor, Imebite, where we will have all our meals. Now everyone is enjoying some well deserved rest so that we are fresh to do it all again tomorrow! Feel free to follow along here on the blog and also to leave comments!
