Today, Students and GG Leaders experienced a day of extreme fun, as we learned more about the Dominican Public Culture. We had two activities that helped shape the way we think of this wonderful country. The first activity was creating masks, this is a tradition in the Dominican Republic, when they are preparing for Carnival in February. Our instructor was Gato, he taught us that to make a successful mask we have to make deep cuts into the clay. Our second activity was visiting a dance class, we were taught three dances: Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue. Our instructor was Paul, he had so much energy, and patience as we learned at a fast pace our dance moves. We went out for dinner and enjoyed wonderful Empanadas. Lastly, we ended our night living like a local, meaning we learned how to shower with a bucket, and move around with no electricity. This trip is rewarding, it is teaching everyone to be humble and selfless
