Waking up at 4:45 am, we started the day with the view of the sunrise as we made our way to Catarina, a place for tourists to arrive and buy memorable souvenirs. We were accompanied by two firefighter who we got to see in action. Unfortunately there had been a motorcycle accident on the road. As we pulled up the firefighters were jumping out of the bus before it had even made a complete stop, not thinking of anything else but to give aid to the person who was injured. No serious damage had occurred for the firefighters gave medical help immediately and was taken to the hospital for any further tests. A little behind schedule we continued our ride to Catarina, up in Masaya. Many artisans were bought for oneself and many family members who are always in our hearts and who never leave our mind. Continuing on our journey we arrived to Monkey Hut. It had a view like no other. With a lagoon surrounded by a forest and the sky with a tint of blue and a tint of gray, made it look like a fantasy. Many screams and laughs of excitement were shared as many of us, including myself, jumped off of the wooden platform to be submerged into the clear warm waters. We ended our night with a good Mac N’ Cheese for dinner, and lastly teaching Nicaraguan children a little English. Teaching them brings joy to my heart, because I love seeing young children eager to learn something new. Not only that but we are being given the opportunity to teach them something that is useful for their future and little by little we are helping to make a change.
