¡Hola a todos!

I’m happy to announce that all of the students arrived safe and sound in Costa Rica! We’re all here at our beautiful home base in Aquiares, Turrialba! 🙂

The group landed at 11:30 am at Juan Santamaría Airport, where our amazing PC, Memo, and our driver, Gustavo, put all their luggage on the bus. Then, we made our way to lunch: some of the students dived straight right into local cuisine and tried the traditional “Casado”, while others enjoyed delicious quesadillas and arroz con pollo. After that, we hopped on the bus again for a two-hour drive to the city of Turrialba.

At our home base, we introduced them to our cook, Diego, who had prepared a wonderful dinner. We gave the students some time to call home, while they also enjoyed some card games and a very interesting round of Mafia. We just finished a quick nightly meeting and now they have a bit more time to continue bonding and shower and refresh after a long day of traveling.

Tomorrow will be our first full day in Turrialba! We will be walking around town and learning about its history with our very own local guide, Memo.

Parents: please remember the students won’t be allowed to call daily, so stay tuned for Day 7 of the trip when they’ll get to call for a few minutes (and make sure to read the blog every night!).

Saludos,
Sonia
