Dear Glimpsers, Parents, and Leaders,
Hola y bienvenidos! We are your Ecuador team and our names are Jose and Chelsea. Chelsea (Site Manager) is from Colorado and this is her second year with Global Glimpse after working as a Program Coordinator in Nicaragua last year. Jose (Program Coordinator) was born in Ecuador and has lived both in the Costa and the Sierras of Ecuador. We are so excited to get to know all of you! You will be arriving very soon and we are excited to welcome you to Riobamba, the heart of Ecuador, and home to rich indigenous traditions and majestic mountains, for what will be 2.5 incredible weeks of learning and discovery.
As we all prepare for this amazing experience, we’d love to hear more about you! What have you been up to? What led you to choose Ecuador for your Global Glimpse program?
Here in Riobamba, we have been preparing for your arrival by designing an amazing itinerary with lots of educational, fun and cultural activities. We are eagerly awaiting your arrival and most recently, we have been busy visiting many of our partner organizations and community members. We have planned some incredible activities with inspiring leaders and organizations that are doing meaningful work here in Ecuador. The team has also visited all the sites in Ecuador where the Glimpsers will be traveling to including a volcano!
We can’t wait to meet you and share an amazing experience with you in the upcoming weeks! We hope you are ready for a life-changing journey that will be eye-opening, fun and also challenging. Be ready to come with an open mind and heart and to step out of your comfort zone. As your in-country team, we will be there to support you every step of the way, and show you all that Ecuador has to offer! When you are in Ecuador we hope you will take the opportunity to engage with the community and explore local culture.
Since the sun is strong and the weather changes drastically, don’t forget to bring lots of layers and sunscreen!
