Hello loved ones! Today we started our day with a 7 a.m wake up call followed by a wonderful egg and cheese omelette at La Favorita . After breakfast we had a enjoyable energizer which called for everyone to get up and be active. We then got a wonderful surprise by our site manager Carla in form of an air conditioned and music capable bus. Everyone was ecstatic! Once as we arrived at La Inmaculada we spilt into three groups, the kitchen, the playground, and the painting group. After receiving our groups, we quickly got to work! Anne and I were assigned to the playground group. The objective of the playground group was that to clear and level out the playground. This entailed moving heavy rocks by shoveling, using our muscles and most importantly teamwork. The thing was, we had to do all this in pouring rain! To be honest this refreshed us so much, and made our jobs so much easier. It soften the soil and made it easier to move the rocks. We work hard until about 12p.m and got the announcement that lunch was ready to be served. For lunch we received a delicious Nica Asian style rice mixed and beef, with a side of salad, two pieces of bread and a very refreshing drink called Grama. After we enjoyed our wonderful meal we played an energizer that invigorated our moods. Following the energizer, we returned back to work in a highly positive mood. At 3p.m we got the announcement that it was time to leave. Before we left, I took a look at the progress that was made, and saw how much was accomplished in the matter of a couple of hours. This was all made possible due to the donors who were extremely generous and donated in total over $1000 for our CAP(Community Action Project). We then got on the bus and headed back to the hostal were we all then quickly took a shower and got back on the bus and headed to our English tutoring classes. At 6:30p.m tutoring was over and we then headed over to the La Favorita for dinner. Todays dinner was a plate with rice and beans, plantain chips and a side of Pico De Gallo with an amazing Calala drink. After dinner we received another surprise by our site manger Carla, ice cream! We then played a few games and headed back to the hostal. Before this I just want to say I love you mom and see you soon! This concludes our day, thank you for checking into our daily blog!

Greetings to all , Anne and Jeremy very impressive blog from the looks of it you all had a very hard day of work but at the end it sure did pay off. It is delightful to hear how you worked in groups and you continued your teamwork, I am sorry to hear that it was pouring with lots of rain but on the bright side it made your job easier if you had to shovel soil, at least the rain helped a bit moving the rocks. I know you all were happy about the bus having air condition and music must of been music to your young ears, breakfast , lunch and dinner sounded so yummy to hear about. Yes indeed that was a generous donation and much use came out of it you all worked so hard I could see it in all of the pictures and all in your faces the work you were putting in to get the jobs done Great job to all and I’m very proud of you young ladies and men.
Ny’Rayah, good seeing a full picture of you I could tell you were engaged, hot, tired and couldn’t wait to get back on the bus to the AC and get some ice cream that you had no idea that you all were surprised to get so refreshing. Today I started putting more clothes in the suit case and going over my list for vacation, we went to Pine’s restaurant for Auntie Sharmaine’s BD on the way home we saw your old classmate Kiara and her mom so Nana, Charles and I spoke to them in front of their building for like an hour and half they both wish you well and sent their regards we didn’t get in the house until 1:15 am. Your loved and missed Rayah can’t wait until the 9th to physically see you of course everyone asked about you , your Home Skillet sends much love{big head that’s what I was told to say}.
To all keep up the awesome work and look forward to today’s event, be safe and peace be with you. Leaders I appreciate you taking care of our children thank you very much.
Warmly,
Niya

I’m so impressed. You are truly working hard. Maybe when you come home, you can help me with the household chores. lol!
The school is so lucky to have you guys go in and work so hard on your CAP projects. To undertake all three ideas in such a short period of time is a testament to your handwork, dedication and each of your families on the type of person you all are!
No doubt the work and the elements were hard, but the camaraderie you have developed helped you get over the hump! The laughs you guys shared along the way while lifting those rocks and painting made the tasks fly by.
Morgan we are so happy to read these blogs everyday and see a glimpse of your time in Granada. We love you!!
