¡Pura Vida!

Today we woke up bright and early at 7:00 am and enjoyed a balanced breakfast consisting of pancakes, fruits, and eggs! Glimpsers applied sunscreen and bug spray for CAP day 2 to prepare for a long day of hard work! Once we arrived, we played a few energizers to warm up for the day’s work ahead. Glimpsers were then split into two groups of sweepers and painters. Sweepers worked on cleaning and washing the gym floor, while painters painted the walls of the gym dark blue. Everyone contributed to a playlist of songs that were played as we worked and even sang together! Before lunch, we had a quick dance party to Michael Jackson and had a blast! For lunch, burgers and chips were served at the base house. We then headed back to the school to complete our project. We were renovating the gym to prepare for a holiday called Annexation of Guanacaste. Annexation of Guanacaste is the celebration of 199 years of Guanacaste becoming a providence of Costa Rica. Fun fact: In honor of Guanacaste, Costa Rica’s national Tree is the Guanacaste tree (Also known as the Elephant Ear Tree). Around 3 pm, we wrapped up CAP day 2’s renovations and headed back to base camp for the rest of the day. After a small break, Glimpsers wrote letters of appreciation to thank the supporters of Global Glimpse. The rest of the night was spent relaxing, watching the beautiful sunset, and practicing for a speed tournament that’s happening tomorrow night. CAP day 2 ended on a strong day of teamwork and Glimpsers prepare for their final day of work!

Sending so much love to those back home,
Maddie & Emeraude 🙂
