Although today was definitely a very jam-packed schedule, it was extremly eventful and fun. As usual, the our daily wake-up call from our lovely roosters was at six in the morning, most of the girls began to get ready even though wake up call wasn’t until seven. After everyone was done getting ready we had our second to last breakfast that was provided by the lovely staff here at CONAMUCA. After breakfast we got ready to leave for our second and final CAP Project day. At our CAP project location we split up and me (Paola) stayed with the brochure and video team to make sure we finished on time while Renee went with the rest of the group to clean the area around the caves. We finally completed the CAP project after lunch.

Then we came back to CONAMUCA to start our final seminar that was four hours long but contained several fun activities that caused us to deeply reflect on the past two weeks. Surprisingly no tears were shed throughout the reflective seminar. Afterwards we were given some time to change into some nicer clothes and the youth ambassadors showed up to have dinner with us for the first time. We had the usual cultural Dominican dinner with everyone’s favorite, plantain chips and fried cheese.  After dinner came the best part, we had a dance party with the ambassadors. The ambassadors were the DJs and played a variety of music. We all danced, even those that said in the beginning that they “didn’t dance.” We danced to merengue, Bachata, and Reggaeton. There was not a moment during our little dance party that someone wasn’t Smiling and enjoying themselves. When it was time for them to leave the ambassadors made a special announcement where they surprised everyone with a handmade bracelet and later even surprised Ali with a birthday card filled with their messages. We had our last nightly meeting and even more surprisingly no one cried, Flora was at some point close to tears though. Today was also the day we had the most big loves shared among the group. Maybe there’ll be some tears shed tomorrow.  Tomorrow we will all be finally traveling back home. Everyone is so excited to see their family and share all our amazing adventures with you guys.

I’d like to give a big shout out to my mom. Happy birthday mom and I’m sad I couldn’t spend your special day with you but I’m so excited to see you in just a matter of hours. I love you so so much and miss you and everyone! Love you, Renee.

I’d like to say Hola Ama y Apa! I’ll see you Monday! Remember we land, if everything goes smoothly, at 12:08 AM but get there half an hour after. Also it’s Sunday night not Monday 🙂
