In order to wake people up at a grueling 6am, we made customized wake up strategies; ranging from raps, balloon pops, music, and  spot on impressions of mickey mouse. YES!!! AFTER A QUICK BREAKFAST AT OUR FAVORITE LOCAL COMEDOR, DEJA VU, WE BOARDED A BUS TO LA ESCUELA SALINAS GRANDES. upon our arrival, we got right into work and split into our designated teams. WE WERE TASKED WITH PAINTING AN ENVIRONMENTAL MURAL, REPAIRING DESKS, PLANTING TREES, AND FIXING THE SOCCER FIELD. after four hours of working, eight to twelve, we had lunch provided by deja vu. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IT WAS A CASE OF DEJA VU. After lunch, we continued with two more hours of work and departed at three. WE GOT BACK TO OUR HOSTEL AT 3:45 AND PREPARED OUR LESSON PLANS FOR OUR ENGLISH CLASSES. we had a delicious five o’clock dinner of pollo frito, arroz, ensalada, y pan at deja vu (fried chicken, rice, salad, and bread). OUR RESPECTIVE CLASSES MOSTLY CONSISTED OF SOME SORT OF FINAL, EXAM OR OTHERWISE, AND PREP FOR THE THURSDAY TALENT SHOW. following the end of class, there were a lot of pictures with the students and trading of contact information. SOME GLIMPSERS WENT TO THE LOCAL SUPERMARKET TO PICK UP EXTRA SNACKS FOR THE NEXT DAY OF CAP DELIVERY. as usual we end the night with the nightly meeting, which allowed for us to reflect on today’s cap project work. since spencer and chris were to be the next leaders of the day, i took it upon myself to have them perform the step routine that i taught them early on in the trip. to me it was not only a dance, but a token of our everlasting fwenship :). THANKS. WE ARE GOING TO BED AT 10:00 FOR ANOTHER BUSY DAY OF OUR COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECT TOMORROW.
