Good Evening Families,

Today, as the name implies, was focused on community. In the morning, we had a seminar deciding what exactly we would be doing for our Community Action Project (CAP), in which we would be helping out a charity focused on education called Love On. After a lengthy discussion, we decided that our CAP would be doing various things, like decorating the school, providing educational tools, and potentially starting a garden. That Love On is planning on opening in the next few weeks.

Later in the day, we were given the chance to visit our food provider, Isabelle’s farm. While we were visiting her farm, we got the chance to see how some of the food that we were going to eat is grown. After visiting Isabelle’s farm, we did some community builders, testing our communication and creativity. These community builders served to help us understand the importance of community and the differences between the communities we’re used to and the communities in Riobamba.

Finally, we went to dinner at Rosa Santa, where Isabelle served us some tea made from the leaves of a plant that we saw growing on her farm earlier. While at the restaurant, we danced to some music after eating some food, ending the day on a high note.
