Hi all,

Wanted to leave to note to introduce myself before we travel together to Nicaragua in a few days!!

I am a social worker at Greenwich High School in CT, where I’ve worked for about 13 years. I work in an alternative program for kids who struggle in school for various reasons, and I love the kids, the program and the amazing team of people I work with. Before this, I worked at a residential treatment center for teens in foster care. As a social worker, I am a passionate advocate for equality, social justice and the protection of human rights. I will be on this journey with the students, exploring and learning and opening our hearts and minds to a greater understanding of the world outside ours.

Although this is my first time traveling with Global Glimpse, I have traveled with students to Mexico twice and Then Kansas, with Habitat for Humanity. I found these experiences to be powerful and rewarding and I am thankful to have found another opportunity to participate in a program like this again now that my kids are a little older.

I live in Stamford CT with my husband and three children. My oldest, Austin, is going into his junior year at Fordham University, where he plays football. My daughter, a Emma, 11, going into 6th grade (ahh… middle school…) and she loves to sing and watch home design shows, and play tennis, flag football and basketball. My little guy, Kyle, is 6, and has energy and spunk and is happiest when he’s tossing a ball or playing board games or cards. I also have a wild and crazy, but lovable, dog, Otis!

My pup- in his favorite spot, where he sits and waits for us to return home.

My family.

I am nervous about leaving my kids behind and curious to see how my husband will manage without me, but I have good family and friends in the area who will help him out!

I cannot wait to embark on this journey with an amazing group of young people.
