Hello Global Glimpse parents and friends ! We started our day today bright and early with a 7am wake up call by yours truly. Breakfast was truly delicious featuring a crepe with cinnamon, cheese and a banana on the side . At 9am we finished breakfast and headed over to the market to work like a local. Once we arrived, the cite manager, Carla, showed each and everyone of us the station we will be working at. I specifically had the rice and beans station, along with my fellow Global Glimpsers who had the clothing , vegetables, cheese, fish, and pork station. Each and everyone one of us had th experience of what it felt like to prepare and advertise products like the locals in Granada. As 11:30am was reaching, we said our goodbyes to the station workers and headed over to La Favorita for lunch. Lunch was also amazing with a mix of french fries, chicken fritters , and a fresh salad. After lunch we walked back to the hostel where we all had time to prepare for our CAP(Community Action Project) presentations as well as for our english tutoring classes. The principle and a teacher that work at a school we will be helping to improve, arrived at 2:00pm. We then presented in groups 3 ideas which were; renovating the kitchen, painting the school, and building a playground. The principle and the teacher then discussed which ideas they heard were most needed for their school. They choose the painting the school and the kitchen ideas to best improve their school. But little did they know we had a surprise for them. With the help of our donations and along with the many donors Mr.Luna was able to reach out to. The principle and teacher were filled with joy when they heard this news that it almost brought tears to the teachers eyes. Once presentations were over we said our goodbyes and thank you’s and got ready for our English classes. At 4:15pm we walked to our English classes and taught English to our students. Once two hours of teaching passed we walked up the block to La Favorita to have dinner. As the other two meals, dinner was amazing as well. We ate tortillas with cheese and beans inside with a salad on the side. Everyone enjoyed their meal, plates were cleaned and everyone was satisfied. Lastly we headed back to the hostel for the night to have our nightly meeting. Everyone shared their experiences for the day and many of them were eye openers. A job may seem easy or unimportant at times but many can not see the hard work and dedication workers put into their profession. So one lesson my fellow Glimpsers and I learned today is , never take advantage of what you have because there are many out there who have to work harder to survive.

Good morning, Great job to all of you for your hard work and dedication each and every day. It’s always a pleasure to hear about how you all continue to assist the communities in so many ways. Whether is working for the locals, teaching a class, painting a school, building a play ground and renovating a kitchen. You guys are making a tremendous difference in their lives. You should feel very proud of what you have accomplished. I was very touched by the surprise.

Good day all , Janaya I simply can’t express where to start off at, your blog defined everything in a work force and how we have to work in life. I’m delighted to read about how our children took part in working like a local and you had to prepare and advertise for your personal stations that you were assigned to. It’s nice that you guys had such an amazing experience doing this job ,in life we do take granted for what we have and what we can do I’m not sure if any of you have ever heard this phrase before but it’s like this “You never know what it’s like until you have your own” that means when you have to work,pay bills , get your own apartment and just do for your self then you will know what us parents go though me personally I didn’t understand what my mother meant until I actually got my own apartment and had to pay bills and everything else that came with having my own. Also take this life lesson when it comes down to working people always say how can this person do this job or I will never do that type of work well the facts of life is we can’t judge because every person have their own talent and asked if we could do someone’s job just for one day some might and might not be able to handle it. {easy said than done}
Ny’Rayah it was great seeing you in the photos and I’m happy that you had a great day I can’t wait to see your pictures that you took on our camera so you can put your talent to work with the pictures you know exactly what I mean I think the theme for that project should be called “Our Life Experience In Other Countries 2016”.
William spend the night last night and wanted to write to you and Diana on his own. He had me watching White Chicks and Home all night until his sleepy eyes couldn’t take it , now he up and ready to go skating when Nana comes in a little while then this afternoon take on Tennis.
Love you Rayah keep up the good work, to all enjoy your day stay focus and peace be with you, leaders thanks! continue to be safe….
Warmly,
Niya
Every morning I look forward to reading what you guys have been up to. I cannot stress how happy I am for all the students for this great experience. It is so important to be around those who are less fortunate. It makes one so much more appreciative of what they have. I love you Beth, I see you doing your thing XOXO miss you much, and remember all is well at home. Nore and Charlie are excited to see you.. Me too! Take care and I cannot wait to speak with you again. Keep having fun!!

To Ny’Rayah ,

I was so amazed to hear about the time it takes for the mango tree to grow and be sent off to other countries. Everyone keep up the good work.
Ny’Rayah I can’t wait to see you , Love Nana-Nana this morning I took William and Wynter to the park for skating and a nice walk.
To all be safe from Ny’Rayah’s grandmother
Congratulation Global Glimpsers on raising all that money to help the school! Shout out to Mr. Luna for your contributions too! The principal, teacher and all those students who will benefit from your efforts must truly be moved. Making cosmetic improvements to their school will boost the morale of each of those students. Your mark will be felt for years to come, you should be very proud!
Working in the markets as the locals do, must have shown you a little insight into the daily life of the shop owners. I’m sure most of you have some kind of job, but this truly must have been a different experience.
Morgan we can’t wait to hear which stall you worked at, we can only imagine that you had your fingers crossed that it wasn’t the fish market!! 😉
Again congratulations to the whole Granada crew!!
Love Mom & Kenny
XO

Hello my beautiful baby Janaya, and fellow beautiful Glimpsers. Everyday I read your post and I wish I could be there with you to experiece the hard work your doing, and all that your learning.
Today you breifly experienced some procedures it takes to be a boss. I pray that all glimpsers come home wanting to learn more and do more to become entrepreneurs in any field you have the desire for, may it be big or small. Also teach and motivate family and friends to do more as well.
I am pleased to hear about all that your learning, experiencing, and enjoying.
Janaya we love you and miss you. Cant wait to hear more.
