Hey family and friends! Today was our day of Final Reflection, The day started for us leaders at 7:00 am. After waking everyone else up at 7:30 am, we had grilled cheese and strawberry juice for breakfast. That was followed by our final seminar on the topic of self-reflection. It was absolutely amazing to hear the things that everyone had to say about one another, look back on making new friends, and reflect on memories to never forget. We then had a short period of time to ourselves during which people took the opportunity to begin packing their belongings in preparation for the travel tomorrow.
After a great lunch of rice, beans, and beef, we had time to explore the city of Constanza one more time. We went to the supermarket to get some nice snacks and souvenirs. Then part of the group went for ice cream while others returned back to the hotel. Those who got ice cream then made their way to the local basketball court, where three of the boys played basketball in 3v3 against some of the locals. Another group went to the bakery to get some local desserts. Once everyone came back, we started preparing for our final dinner in the D.R. which took place at a pizzeria called Moncarlo. We had great pizza while also having an amazing time dancing, singing, and laughing the night away. After a short walk back home, a lively nightly meeting was held by Jimmy and Cody, where the torch was passed to Mae to lead Travel Day tomorrow. We came back downstairs to a heartfelt message from the staff at Dilenia and delicious desserts (Flan). To our great surprise, we were graced with a movie night! It was the perfect way to cap off our phenomenal trip to the great country of the Dominican Republic.

Cody- Hey Mom, Dad, Alliyah, Katie, Gah, and Gram. The trip has been absolutely amazing to experience and I am so thankful that I was able to visit this beautiful country. I have a long day of travel ahead of me and I can’t wait to tell you all about what I have seen. love you all, see you tomorrow.

Sounds like a perfect final day in the DR. Thank you to the people of Constanza for being such gracious hosts to these students. And a special “thank you” Mae Humphreville and Ingrid Vega and the other Global Glimpse Leaders so much for taking such good care of our son Nevin and the other adventurous travelers! It was hard to have Nevin away but we know that he was in capable and caring hands. It looks like Nevin grew so much as a human during this trip. It also looks like he had a great time! Safe travels homeward!
