Today was one of the most difficult days that we’ve faced in our tenure here in Granada, Nicaragua. During our time at La Inmaculada School, we made sure that teamwork was our main strategy. One of our primary goals for today was to be able to provide the students with a safe environment. We painted the outsides of a classroom to enhance the appearance of the building as well as give students pride in their school. We also crafted cement and used it to renovate the playground. To prove the difficulty of the project, our delegation was aided by locals from Las Prusias due to the excessive amount of work that was needed to be done in such a short amount of time. Even though the locals had a big part in our project, the delegation’s work should not be overlooked. One hardship we faced today was dealing with the cement. The group renovating the playground had to combine a mixture of rocks, sand, and dirt in order to create cement to place on the ground. This may sound easy, but many of the glimpsers had to do this while it was raining. However, the weather did not stop us from getting the job done. Although we were tired, we all enjoyed our break and ate a lovely lunch of pasta and chicken covered in mayonnaise. After a long day of working hard at the school, we returned to the hostel where we prepared for English class. Unfortunately, today was the last day of teaching English to our students. Many of the glimpsers were saddened by this, but they were glad to have the opportunity to be allowed to teach Nicaraguan students English. As a result of today, we learned that sometimes not everything goes as planned and you have to work around things in order to get the job done.

Hello Naomi and all, although there were rough circumstances to get the job done, the job was needed. Teaching English and recreating a better look for the school was a great idea that will last a lifetime. All the students greatly appreciate all the hard work so thank you very much.
Bianca, I look forward to speaking to you tomorrow. I love you beautiful.

Greetings to all, Naomi and Yordi today’s blog on what your experience was seemed to be tough for you all but once again as a group you pulled together and worked as a team. In life some days are more difficult in the work force but this is when people are faced to continue to get the job done in a orderly fashion some days are easier then others but as a whole this is when you learn that you can’t give up. I’m so proud of you all and the fact that the weather was not that great so sorry to hear that, now you have seen and felt how it is to work in bad weather conditions especially for people who have theses type of jobs each day whereas they have to work in all weather conditions. Building a playground wasn’t just work but it gave you all exposure to see what it was like to build, create and overlook the awesome work that you have done{well done guys}.
I hope you all can post pictures of the final touch of the playground or at least the before and after of what was done. Sorry to hear that English class has come to an end but the students whom you taught will remember this for decades and the impact that you gave to each student.
Ny’Rayah love and miss you yesterday Charles and I hung out after I took care of business we went on a mother and son date to Ihop just hanging out with Charles one to one was great since we don’t get the chance to as much. So funny but who do we bump into while in Ihop Auntie Sharmaine and the children seems like in our family great minds always think alike. Heading to wash clothes hope to hear from you tomorrow enjoy your day.
Peace be with you all and have a great day , Leaders thanks a bunch !
Warmly,
Niya
Good morning, Great job to all. Through this journey you guys have taught us all a little something about being courageous and improvising along the way. You don’t realize this but these are skillsets that you will be carrying with you throughout your life. I’m sure it was a very difficult day. It seems like the day took a lot of hard work and dedication. Crafting the cement to renovate a playground and painting the school to change it’s appearance sounds like a lot of work, especially when the weather was not being too friendly. You guys have learned to work around the hardships of life. Teaching a English class and having to say goodbye sounds very sad. I probably would’ve been devastated if I had to do the same. You guys are amazing, keep up the good work. I want to thank the leaders for being there with you guys, for their support during this difficult journey, and for taking good care of you all.
Diana, You aunt has been reading the blogs. Every time I talk to her about the things you do, she says I know. Then she says she’s been reading the blog. LOL! Tomorrow is Saturday, I hope to hear from you. Take care, miss you a bunch. Luv mom!

Everyday I read the blogs that you all have written and I can’t believe what great things you all are accomplishing during your time there!
Morgan, I miss you and I’m ready to pack your bag for your next trip!
Love you,
Grandma
This definitely sounds like the most difficult day in your time in Granada. From the hard work and weather elements to having to say goodbye to your “students.” Just remember the impact you all are having on them even in the short period of time that you had. Be proud of your hard work and all that you have accomplished with them, big or small. Every little thing you do touches someone in a special way!
Morgan can’t wait to hear what you thought of the food, especially today. I can only imagine the face you made when they served lunch, lol. I’m sure you survived, but you get to pick what we have for dinner on Wednesday night.
Looking forward to hearing the stories, seeing the pictures and items you purchased from Granada.
Counting the days to we see you, love you baby!

Hello Naomi & Yordi.
Nice blog. Thank you both.
Naomi baby. There are no words that I can write or say to express the pride that I feel. It is so inspiring to see the dedication, the hard work, and enthusiasm that you and your fellow Glimpser are displaying. You and your peers have not only touched the lives of many Nicaraguans and their communities, but the lives of all of us here at home.
Missing you dearly. Can’t wait to see you, and cook something special for you.
See you soon and will be waiting for your call during free time.
Love you!
Yordi, I’m so glad you were the ELDD on such a tough day – you are the perfect person for a job like that! I have seen your positivity and encouragement lift people up and motivate them to keep going many times, and I’m sure you did that yesterday. I can’t wait to see the completed project! Enjoy every second of your time there, it goes by fast! Big love to everyone!
