Today was our last day of the CAP project at Barrilete. Over the past three days we worked in two distinct groups. The construction group built four tables, a hook rack for backpacks, and a curtain system for the bathrooms and classrooms. The creative group designed and painted the tables once they were completed.

The creativity and design team started the day off by sketching out the four squares on each table for each designated educational content. After that, we proceeded to begin sketching and painting the boxes with the colors of the rainbow. Once the boxes were finally completed, along with the words, “Global Glimpse 2017” and “Team Tuani,” our group proceeded to add our handprints and the handprints of the Barrilete children as well. We could see that the children really enjoyed putting their handprints on the tables since they kept coming back to do it again.

After the tables were completely finished, the children of Barrilete treated our delegation with dance performances, along with a performance from one of our own glimpsers, Harmony. We expressed our gratitude to Dona Maria, presented our CAP project to her, and left Barrilete with heavy hearts, though also with the satisfaction that our CAP project idea had come to life in the short time span we were given. We were able to enhance the childrens’ education, create a fun environment for the children, and brighten the childrens’ lives with friendship.
