Hey everybody! Today was our second to last day here in Jinotega and our final free day of exploration, adventure, and purchases via cool cordobas. Today our day was relatively easy; we woke up at 8:00am, ate, wandered, ate, wandered some more, and then celebrated the graduation of our E.T. (English tutoring) students and then concluded our day with a brief meeting.

Two weeks have come and gone in a blink of an eye for us and soon we’ll be coming back with a new perspective on everything, thanks to Global Glimpse. The question of the day today was “What’s some type of gift (either physical or metaphorical) that you’ll be taking home with you?” and while some people said “a lot of coffee” (thanks to multiple trips to Soppexca) our gifts are more along the lines of “the relationships and bonds we made here” or “the friendships with the locals”. This trip is the greatest thing to happen to a lot of us, and sure, some of us have been out of the country multiple times before, or have explored multiple regions of the world, but with Global Glimpse, the experience here becomes something a lot more genuine.

Being “Leader of the Day” was both a curse and a blessing today. One of critiques from the nightly meeting was that “….[he wishes] I had a more challenging day to actually push my boundaries because my leadership skills we’re on top of it” and I agree with the critique. I enjoyed being leader today because today was one of if not the only days where we were completely on time up until the schedule change 🙂 I was amazed to find a method that works with everyone and also super proud to work with the 17 awesome students on this trip who have also gotten a taste of this spot.

As we go into our final full day tomorrow, I just want to write on behalf of all the glimpsers on this trip how appreciative we are of this trip, because I know it’s really changing our lives. See you in 2 days!!!!
