In the morning everyone was wide awake after a good night of rest and we were happy and went to breakfast each person said it was a wonderful meal. Then we had our morning class about the local education. Around 10:10 we went on a private bus to travel to the first school, we saw a bunch of cows on the way there.

Once we all smelled them we knew what we were going to see.
Most people had problems since they didn’t know much spanish, but in the end everything worked out since we helped each other.

All the kids were so happy to have us there.
Once we finished that part of the day we went back to the hostel and changed into the uniform of the day, blue pants and a white shirt. Despues we went and had lunch which was also lovely. On the second part of the day we all went to the private secondary school, Colegio Bautista. We had the reality challenge to shadow one of the students there.

Myself with the group of local students I began to talk to.

A handful of the kids and one of the leaders in the local P.E. class.
All of us attended four classes and after the first class each pair started to open up to one another.

Kerry and a local student having a fun talk together.

Diane and her host.
After seeing what it’s like to be a student here we realized what their value of education is. Once we back in the hostel we had fun time when some of the kids went to the local internet cafe and the others went to the food store. Once we were back from our little adventure we all had to talk about the notes we took from what we witnessed about the schools. Then in order to celebrate the 4th we went to pizza shop for dinner, the pizza was very different from american. Since it was in a square shape! After dinner we had our nightly meeting, in which we discuss our good and bad parts of the day, wishes and pluses for group, and feed back to the leader of the day. After all of that the leader of the day passed on the leadership. Hence, the new leader wrapped out the night and we had free time before bed time.

I am so glad to see the water bottle by your side. Good to know you all are staying hydrated. Those cows on the road remind me of cows in India.
Hi Everyone! Congratulations on a great start to the trip. I am glad you are already diving in to meeting local students and being one yourselves 🙂 -Steward
