Today was beach day! We ate breakfast at the Imabite then headed out on a field trip to a private beach called Las Penitas with amazing warm water. We had lots of fun collecting shells, taking pictures, learning about the history of the area , and trying to fight the current. Then we headed to ” Barca de Oro ” to eat very delicious lunch.
After lunch we headed to Xuchialt Gallery to make a big sawdust carpet. Xuchialt is an art gallery representing the people of Sutiaba. They represent the culture of the people of Sutiaba through art and dance, and we got to experience both. We decorated our own sawdust carpet together with “Global Glimpse” in the middle and various pictures around the edges. After that, the people at Xuchialt performed two traditional dances for us around our carpet. Then, as part of their culture we had to destroy the carpet which was both fun and disappointing.
We started prepping for tomorrows English tutoring. We were divided into three groups depending on how well you speak Spanish. We will have to teach people from Nicaragua from different ages. We’re really looking forward to see how that will turn out tomorrow!
Everyone is getting along really well and bonding quickly. We spend a lot of time together at the hostel and everyone had fun swimming and taking pictures together at the beach today.
Tomorrow it’s on to the Mercado where we will learn how to work like a local:)

Warriors won! 2nd NBA Championship in 3 years! Durant scored 39 points and got MVP. McCaw played too and I didn’t realize he was playing until I noticed him running and he reminded me of how you play basketball. Same style, same passing and same running too lol ? Matt Barnes didn’t play but I’m so happy for him that he finally got a ring ?

Naasir I am so happy to see you in these pictures! Nicaragua looks beautiful and it sounds like you guys are having an amazing time. I can only imagine how much fun you had at the beach. I hope you are taking lots of pics, and more importantly, that you are having an adventure that will result in lifetime memories. Back at home, the Dubs are world champs again. Kyrie played well but KD was too much! I miss you a bunch. I’ll be checking this blog regularly too keep up with what you’re up to.
Hey Eduardo! It’s Eli again! That seems pretty awesome. I’m excited to hear about your work with the local community. I hope you’re having fun! I went to San Francisco today and got to see the wax museum. It was much more fun than I thought it was going to be. I even got to dress up and take a picture with Janis Joplins wax statue. I’m sure you would have loved seeing her and we can always go back once you come back from your trip. Keep up the good work!
