DAY 6: Free Day #1

Hey Family and Friends, it’s Briana and Grace! After 6 days in San Juan de la Maguana, we finally had a free day to relax! Waking up at 8:15 was a great way to start the day and everyone was quick and ready to get up and start our day. We walked to Rosaura’s for breakfast as usual and then walked back to the accommodation where we started our 2 hour free time when students were able to call home, play cards, do laundry, and have quiet time.

After free time, we walked back to Rosaura’s to have lunch before getting even more free time in which we were able to explore the neighborhood. A group of people satisfied their sweet tooth by going to Bon for ice cream while others, went to a souvenir shop and mall that was no less than interesting. When everyone came back to the accommodation, we walked to the nearby school for tutoring prep and tutoring. We had many comments saying that this tutoring (our second time) was much better than the first! We walked back to Rosaura’s for a delicious dinner and then back to the accommodation. We wrapped up our day with a significant object discussion where some of us shared a object that meant a lot to us and we also had the nightly meeting. We’re all doing well and are having the best time here in the Dominican Republic!

So Mexico lost while you were gone mikey 🙁 , we got it next time. But I hope you’re having an amazing time out there! Literally it’s same ol rowdy Pittsburg out here, fireworks around the bay were interesting. Some places were lame, and other places I almost died, BUT SO WORTH IT. miss you mi amor, see you soon!
