Hello Global Glimpse families. We have completed our first full day in Leon, Nicaragua, and what a day we’ve had. We began the day with a familiar breakfast of pancakes and fruit, followed by a tour of this beautiful city. We got to know the local history of Leon, prominent figures, and visited major local landmarks. We enjoyed a brief respite on the roof of a Cathedral as we looked out across the city.
After lunch, we got to spend time with Don Pablo, a prominent leader in the local indigenous tribe, as he provided us with insight into the history of his tribe, the local community, and his tribe’s role within the community. He then took us on a tour of a beautiful baroque Catholic church where we searched for hidden eyes in the art and architecture while learning more about the history of this amazing place.
After dinner, we adjourned to the hostel for our nightly meeting and reflections as we shared out our experiences and first impressions so far on this trip. As I write this, our wonderful Global Glimpsers are enjoying some free time and getting ready for bed so we can get an early start tomorrow. We’ve been drinking lots of water, and everyone is excited and feeling good. Until tomorrow Global Glimpse families.
Quick shoutout to Sarina and Christine!
I hope you’re enjoying Leon. I can’t wait to hear about your adventures when you come back.
Hi Charles(;
Wow! An exciting first day! Thank you for the post and pictures. It helps us to imagine the beauty of Leon and the excitement and opportunities that you are all experiencing! Some US sports stats…Warriors won Wednesday night 118 to 113! Penguins slammed it with a 6 -0 win (I know you are super happy about that Logan!). It rained in the Bay Area yesterday and is supposed to clear off for a cooler but sunny weekend. Former FBI director Comey testified yesterday…other than that I will leave political news aside :-)! Treasure each moment you have, Logan please be taking lots of pictures, and be thankful for each interaction you experience! Lots of love to you Logan, we miss you! Mom and Luke (Elvis and Jackson too)
Thank you for the beautiful pictures ! We are so happy for you all, that you are able to experience the beautiful city of Leon, culture and history. Something to look forward to. Keep the pictures coming. We love them. Emily Lois, we are very proud of u and hope that u enjoy this wonderful experience. Love, mom, Amanda, Tia and Uncle Den. God Bless you.

Thank you for the update and pictures. Embrace, make the most of this lifetime experience, learn, make new friends and have fun! Akoni was promoted today. The smiles and leis were beautiful! Yes, he knows how to smile, he just saved them for school! The picture slide show presented at the ceremony from K-5th grade was a treat. Now they are Taytor (Taylor) Tots.
Cavs are awake in game 4…I think we are a little too comfortable. People say we are going to sweep. I’m superstitious. You know my thoughts on teams, “You never know, that’s why it’s called a game!” Nonetheless, “GO WARRIORS!” Its 54-37, Q2, Cavs at the moment.
Miss and love you Babycakes 🙂 xoxo
What a great experience!!! Enjoy every minute of this amazing experience Logan. 🙂
Hey there Logan,
So excited to follow you on this fantastic journey. We are so proud of you. Sending prayers for you to open your heart and your mind as you explore this new culture and the wonderful people that God has placed in all these wonderful places in the world. May you experience life to the fullest and may you realize that you are designed for a wonderful purpose of fellowship, discipleship and worship. Can’t wait to see the wonderful impact you are going to make in this world.
