Hello Global Glimpse families. We have completed our first full day in Leon, Nicaragua, and what a day we’ve had. We began the day with a familiar breakfast of pancakes and fruit, followed by a tour of this beautiful city. We got to know the local history of Leon, prominent figures, and visited major local landmarks. We enjoyed a brief respite on the roof of a Cathedral as we looked out across the city.

After lunch, we got to spend time with Don Pablo, a prominent leader in the local indigenous tribe, as he provided us with insight into the history of his tribe, the local community, and his tribe’s role within the community. He then took us on a tour of a beautiful baroque Catholic church where we searched for hidden eyes in the art and architecture while learning more about the history of this amazing place.

After dinner, we adjourned to the hostel for our nightly meeting and reflections as we shared out our experiences and first impressions so far on this trip. As I write this, our wonderful Global Glimpsers are enjoying some free time and getting ready for bed so we can get an early start tomorrow. We’ve been drinking lots of water, and everyone is excited and feeling good. Until tomorrow Global Glimpse families.
