Today was our last full day.

We woke up at 7 am with the sound of Burt (a bee toy that plays the drum) played by Moises. For breakfast at 8 am, we had hot chocolate, mashed potatoes, and spam. Then we had our program seminar that was filled with lots of love and took up three hours! For lunch, we had white rice, fried chicken, plantain, salad, and fruit (egg plant for the vegetarians) from our amazing chef Welling. Afterwards, we revised our e-tickets so we would be ready for tomorrow’s flight. Then we got three hours of free time where we got souvenirs to bring back home, and some of the girls got matching shirts (only some because we were divided in two groups). During that time, we also planned a surprise for our GG Leaders; we bought Dayde and Ashley rose teddy bears that were later named Sol and Luna (Sun and Moon). When we returned, we got ready to go to Pizza and Pepperoni, where we had a delicious pizza and presented the surprise (bears) along with a cake-flavored dulce leche; the leaders were very surprised and happy (YAY)! We then had our last ride on the safari bus on the way back and started our last nightly meeting. This meeting was filled with lots of laughs, tears, and reminiscence of memories.

Lastly, we did our final Unity-Clap, where our word was ” Amor” (Love). We then finished out night out with the remembrance of our Quote of the Day: ” Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain.

Now we are writing our last student blog. Although we are sad this is our last night, we are excited to go back home to our families.

Lots of love,
Reyana & Romina.
