Today was our students’ first day in Constanza, Dominican Republic! We took a private 4 hour bus ride from the busy city of Santo Domingo to the mountainous city of Constanza.

After a long day after arrival, we enjoyed our program orientation, followed by a short history lesson and city tour.

Students share that their favorite part of the city tour was meeting with Constanza’s fire department, who expressed with us their passion for serving their community. They showed us just how ready they are to serve by giving us a demonstration on how they can get ready for action in less than a minute!

We ended our city tour with some popsicles and headed back to the hotel for some rest time and dinner. After dinner, we chose the leaders of the day and had our closing session.

Everyone is in bed now getting some much needed rest to be ready for a fun day tomorrow. Until then!
