Today was our first free day. We started our day at 8 am, followed by breakfast at 9 am. For breakfast we had an American style meal of Fruit Loops, Corn Flakes and Fruit Salad. After breakfast, we had free time, where we split into two groups. One group went to the supermarket, to get smoothies, and then to the plaza, where they played games and ate. Meanwhile, the other group hung back and played games to learn more about one another. Once the first group returned from their outing, the next group went to the supermarket and for delicious ice cream at Bon (as recommended to us by Carolina, Carol, and Cristal). Once they returned, our full group came together for lunch of rice with chicken and ham. Following this, we had more free time. This was the first time, we were able to explore Constanza in groups of four or more alongside our Ambassadors.

After everyone returned from their exploration, we began preparing for English tutoring. We split up into our groups and finished up our lesson plans before heading off to the school. There, we met our students and went into our classrooms to begin teaching our two hour class. For the most part, everyone had an amazing experience, and are looking forward to Wednesday, when English classes continue. After returning from class, we came back to the hostel, had dinner and then began our nightly meeting.

Being leader of the day, was an experience that evoked multiple emotions in me. It started out a little rocky and uneasy. However, by the end of the day, I was glad that I was able to experience being the leader on our first free day and our first day of English tutoring. Overall, today was an amazing journey for me, and really gave me a new view on leadership. I learned that when people are in a position of leadership, confidence is key.
