Day 6 Free Day!
Hi everyone,
Today was our first free day with nothing predetermined. Some of us got up early and went on a two mile run around the city at seven, with one of the GGL. The rest of us slept in and got lots of rest after yesterday’s hard work. At 845 we ate Gallo pinto and plantains. After breakfast we separated into two groups one going to get coffee and the park, while the others went to the cyber cafe and to get coffee. At the park we saw lots of dancing, heard music and took in the local life. At the coffee shop for the first group we had cake, smoothies and iced coffee. Everyone was very happy to get drinks and food in the air conditioning. The second group as mentioned before went to the cyber café and used the computers and phones there to message and call loved ones. We headed back to the hostel to eat lunch and right after we got into our groups for the CAP Project. We split into two groups based on interest in projects. The goal of today was to prepare presentations to give to the ADIC team. Group one prepared a presentation about painting a mural and the walls of the children’s room while group two focused on creating a garden. When everyone finished we had more free time. We as a whole group went to the supermarket to stalk up on snacks. Then we went to get ice cream as a big group and some of us went to play basketball right after with one of the GGL while the rest went back to the hostile to with the other GGL. We all ate dinner and had our nightly meeting overall today was a great day to go out and enjoy Matagalpa’s beauty!
