Hey families!

Today was our second Free Day and our second Cultural Day! But most importantly, our last day here in Las Tablas. We started off our day with a cultural presentation by Roberto Villarreal, who creates the most beautiful outfits and decorations for Carnival. We were in absolute awe at his incredible work and the culture behind the tradition. He was even kind enough for us to scope around his workshop, and try on some of his artistic and fancy hats.

After Roberto’s presentation, we had our last English tutoring session with our students. We ended it with the most heartfelt goodbyes and even a little Cupid Shuffling dance! All of us have made a great connection with the students, and we will keep them in our memories. Also, we said goodbye to the staff at the hotel, who have dedicated so much time and showed appreciation for us.

When returning from the tutoring session, we were allowed to go out for free time! Everyone had fun spending our last day roaming around town. A group of us even went shopping for donation items for Nutre Hogar. All shopping sprees and even a stop at McDonald’s put everyone in a great mood.

We’re ending our night packing to leave Las Tablas. This town holds a lot of great memories for us that will forever have a place in our hearts. I can’t believe how time flies! We will see you all soon! Almost home!
