Today, we had our second fun day at the pool. We drove half an hour to a country club. We celebrated Allegra and James’s birthday. We had a lot of fun at the pool. After that we came back to the hotel to start on our CAP project presentation.

As the leader of the day, I learned something from the peers when I was trying to hide the celebration of the birthday from group members. People had been asking me about the birthday, I was happy that people in the group is taking care of each other. I grow up in a place that people are a little selfish and not having so good birthdays. That is why I was so surprised and happy people asked that. I felt real love in the group. Another thing that made me feel that way is when I was trying to ask people to come with me to prepare for the birthday surprise. I can already imagine the bad side of it, which is no one willing to join us, since everyone was having fun at the pool. But the girls were all so excited to prepare with us. Big love to Nicaury for planning the birthday party and got the cake ready, make everyone really have fun on fun day.

It was hard for me to keep the secret birthday party. And people had been asking me the whole day about the birthday party. I was trying to let them think we not going to do anything for their birthday. That is the whole point of secret party. At the end, we all made a poster for Allegra, it has everyone’s comment and signature. We will also do it for James.

What made me really proud were the presentations, because we didn’t have time to prepare. However, we did a great job conveying our ideas to a community as a group. Everyone dressed elegantly, and the person who is in charge of the project only spoke Spanish. Although, some of us don’t speak Spanish the bilingual students successfully translated the group’s ideas.

It was stressful for being the leader of the day. I had to think ahead and have plan before things happened. It is extremely hard to not forget things. I had to be appreciative to people who reminded me what to do. I felt I’ve been taking care this whole time. This is the best group I’ve ever been in.
