DSCF0989[1]DSCF0812[1]DSCF0815[1]DSCF0964[1]Today my peers and I learned how teamwork and encouraging one another is essential to overcoming major obstacles; such as climbing in and out of The Somoto Canyon. What surprised me, and hit me in the heart the most today was how everyone demonstrated their natural leadership skills and proved why they were chosen to experience this once in a lifetime trip. I am truly proud of all the glimpsers today. For only having known each other for less than a week, they encouraged, they motivated, and they supported each other as if they had known each other for years. Being the first glimpser on the trip to be the leader of the day wasn’t as hard as I thought because being in leadership for over 5 years gave me the skills and confidence to lead the day. However, what truly made leading easy was how everyone helped each other out and worked together. Today I learned to challenge myself and to be confident in leading my peers; whether they are my age, older or younger. I learned that I am capable of more than I know, so I will continue to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to become the best me that I can be.
