Greetings family and friends,

We started off the day early at 6:00AM with breakfast at Nativa’s where we had omelettes, bread, and salad. After that, we took an hour and 30 minute bus drive to Baños.

At Baños we did many activities such as hiking, walking across a suspension bridge, and took pictures under a waterfall. Then we ate lunch at Restaurante D’Antonio where we had rosemary chicken with rice, a salad, and a fruitful desert.

We then walked to a nearby park where we separated into groups of 4 and explored town, shopping for souvenirs. We stayed there for around an hour and a half and took the bus back to our hotel.

At our hotel, we continued working on our CAP and English tutoring projects for an hour and a half. For dinner, we went back to our favorite, Nativa’s, and ate a delicious meal that consisted of beef stew, rice, and fried bananas, with a blueberry mousse and a side of macaroni salad.

To end off the day, we walked back to the hotel to have our nightly meeting where we discussed the possibility of sustainable tourism in developing countries. In this discussion we learned about the importance of respecting the environment, culture, and community, surrounding tourist attractions in different communities across the world.

Tomorrow we are excited to work as locals and learn about what it takes to live as one, as well as tutoring 18-50 year olds on the basics of English.

Sincerely,

Stephanie and Vin 🙂
