Today, the group was scheduled to visit the volcano,”Cerro Negro”, and was challenged to hike up approximately 2,000 feet. This visit challenged the group to face their fear of heights and individually challenge ourselves to reach the top. Although this obstacle was difficult, the group was able to overcome this challenge by providing support and comfort to each other. It was surprising to realize that volcano boarding was not as scary as it sounds, but was very enjoyable. The group is proud of not giving up when struggling to reach the top of the volcano. Today, everyone was a source of inspiration because of their ability to withstand these challenges and still prevail. Being the Lider Del Dia, Leader of the day, was a good learning experience in how to support a large group and I work through challenges like keeping everyone on time. But overall, the group made stronger connections and had such an enjoyable day.
