This morning we began our day with Gallo Pinto, a traditional Costa Rican breakfast for our last day in Turrialba. We cleaned up the accommodations and brought our luggage down to the main floor before we had our mental warm up. We also had time to hang out, play ping pong and card games. We were surprised when Doña Miriam came to visit us and say goodbye! We sat with her and enjoyed her company for a while before we exchanged hugs and tearful goodbyes. We also had to say goodbye to Zimba, our house dog who we loved very dearly, before we left!

Then we began a long bus ride to San Jose where we’re staying tonight before our 4am departure to the airport. We made a stop at a gas station where we were excited to find slushies and hot dogs to tide us over until dinner! When we arrived at the hotel some of us went swimming before dinner, it began to rain pretty hard but they were not deterred! We had dinner and our very last nightly meeting as Glimpsers. (‘:

Overall, we shared how grateful we were that we ended up on this trip together. We couldn’t have hoped for a better group of people to share 14 days in Costa Rica with.

With Courage, Compassion, and Commitment,

Lola and Kijai
