Application FAQS
Global Glimpse welcomes applications from high school juniors who are eager to engage in a transformative travel experience. Applicants should be curious, embrace learning through discomfort, and demonstrate a proactive attitude and commitment to personal development. Our programs offer unique opportunities for students from different backgrounds to explore the world and learn alongside other young leaders.
Additional Requirements:
– Current junior in high school
– Able to travel internationally for 11 days between June-August
– Currently residing in the United States
Every year we have amazing students participate in Global Glimpse who are not from our partner high schools. If you do not attend one of our Partner High Schools or are not in one of our Partner Organization Programs and are interested in participating in Global Glimpse, please fill out the Application Interest Form and our staff will support you through next steps.
Unfortunately we only allocate scholarships to partner school students. As an independent student you are not eligible for a scholarship. With that said, our program is still more affordable than other travel companies and we support you with fundraising tools and guidance.
Also, many independent students partner with a teacher at their school and apply to be a Global Glimpse partner school to unlock scholarships for them and their classmates! If you’re interested in bringing Global Glimpse to your school contact us!
Students are either nominated by a teacher or alumni ambassador at their school, or you can fill out an interest form, and a team member will reach out directly with more information on next steps.
Yes, but deadlines vary slightly based on your affiliation with Global Glimpse.
Partner School Students: Applications are due in either October or November with the exact deadline varying per school. Please check with the GG Leader at your school or contact us, and we will provide your school’s deadline.
Partner Organization Students: Check with your program leader or contact us.
Independent Students: Application deadlines are on a rolling basis. Space is limited, so the sooner you apply, the more likely you are to be accepted and placed on a trip of your choice.
Once you complete the scholarship portion of the online application, you will be able to know what your estimated scholarship award will be. This amount is not verified until you submit all of your income verification forms, and then you will get a final scholarship amount upon your acceptance to the program in December.
The Global Glimpse application is online and consists of personal and health information, 6 short answer questions, trip preferences, income information and a parent/guardian signature.
In order to be considered for a need-based scholarship, you must submit a copy of your family’s 1040 tax form. This form must clearly include the student’s full name in the dependent section of the form, the number of dependents in the household, and the gross adjusted family income. To view an example of the required form, please click here.
If your family’s 1040 tax form is not available, you may submit TWO of the following documents for scholarship consideration:
- A letter indicating that you or your family is receiving government aid
- Free and reduced lunch letter from your school
- Your parents’ pay stubs from the past three months
Our application process ensures that we select students who are truly prepared to benefit from this unique leadership development opportunity. Given the limited availability of scholarships, we seek high school juniors who demonstrate the potential to grow and who will fully embrace the transformative experiences our program offers. This careful selection allows us to maintain a high standard of engagement and impact, fostering a cohort of leaders who are ready to learn, lead, and explore globally together.
